Bradey – make sure to actually fill in the poll. Thanks!
wouldn’t a button for “Already went to one in the last X months” help too? (Just went to an SQL Saturday and got swag.)
That’s what “I’ve been to an event before” means – you’ve been to one in the past. Cheers!
The wording on the question seems to imply “Before” is “Before the world shut down due to Covid”.
Before Covid, After Covid, in the next 12 months would be the options if the perceived implication is correct.
You’re overthinking it – it just means before.
In Floriduh, NO.
Been to in-person events in the past. Been to in-person events within the last year. Hope to get time to go to some in-person events in the future as well, barring scheduling conflicts. (And I did click on the poll 🙂 )
I went to a large “Content Server” event in London a month ago, which went OK.
I went to my nieces’ local wedding and the whole family caught COVID 🙁
Do you suppose that the personal contact levels at those two events were similar, or different?
My responses were yes and no. Dicey job situation, company does not pay or support, high cost of living, changing community with several old friends no longer around. I do volunteer online and help others go.
Thanks! I’m writing a post about the numbers, and your reasoning matches what I’ve heard from other senior members of the community.
Its more difficult to participate in events on another continent – for example Pass Summit if you are from Europe, and your employee isn’t paying for your participation.
I regret that next Pass Summit is only “in person”.
So did you attend SQLBits this year?
