And presto, no one will ever again question whether or not you know what you’re doing.
I make Microsoft SQL Server go faster. I love teaching, travel, cars, and laughing. I’m based out of Las Vegas. He/him. I teach SQL Server training classes, or if you haven’t got time for the pain, I’m available for consulting too.

Lmao… At least this isn’t as bad as the dev I knew that coded in Comic Sans. XD
My life BEGINS TODAY!
And you can even goof around with the batch separator and make it fun(nier). For this to work, go to the same Tools, Options and then to Query Execution, SQL Server, General and change to Batch Separator. And here’s how it can look like:
select * from sys.databases
Run_Forest
Going to use SSMS to generate all my formal dinner party invites now 🙂
“And presto, no one will ever again question whether or not you know what you’re doing.”
I think if I saw a DBA switch SSMS to the font Brent chose I would question Everything he or she is doing! :p
Kidding of course.
Stay classy San Diego!
I have to agree wholeheartedly with this statement!
Read it carefully. They won’t question because… they’ll know the answer to the question. 😉
HAH! Well played. What’s that expression…better to have people wonder if you know than to open your mouth and remove all doubt 🙂
I’m gonna swtich to OCR-A – make my SSMS future-riffic like 1967!
Wow, I did not know about the beep option… Makes me wonder what kind of nonsense you can do in SQL server/SSMS… Can we start making games with sound effects? Pew Pew your queries are done
OMFG I never noticed this before in the Options!! Mostly because I didn’t care about much in there outside of Text Editor and Query Results settings…
HaHa. Next logical step is emojis to go with the sound effects.
You’re about a month off for an April fools joke
You forgot to enable the Database Tuning Advisor, aka Clippy
And presto, no one will ever again question whether or not you know what you’re doing.????
Read it carefully. They won’t question because… they’ll know the answer to the question. 😉
And presto, no more annoying pair programming!
Hmm… May need to try this with Wingdings font. LOL
You hurt me with that script….you hurt me BAD.
This could be a winner in the category of “things to do when your colleague forgets to lock their screen”
Wingdings here I come!
As Easy as 1,2,3…
Question: is that a play on spreadsheet names from the late ’80s?
At a time when the go-to Spreadsheet was “Lotus 123” and completely unaffordable for us students, there was a share-ware spreadsheet called “As Easy As” which we all used.
So was the title of this article intentional or not?
Real professionals are using Wingdings as default font.
And don’t forget to use bright green font color on a pink background color (one of my previous (femal) coworkers did this, so I can assure, that it works – nobody stared at her screen – don’t know if she is color blind)
Made me spit my coffee! Had a coworker when I was a newbie DBA, managed to get to my local SQL Server a few days before he quit, put a .wav file of a cricket singing, set up an agent job to run it everyday at a specific time…..that was pretty awesom!
Look forward for ChatGPT add-in for SSMS
