Last year, I started this series of “who’s hiring” blog posts because The Great Resignation was clearly a real thing. The pandemic is causing so many folks to rethink what they do for a living, where they do it, who they do it for, and in light of yesterday’s salary survey results, how much money they earn doing it. It’s been really fulfilling to hear stories of employers who found candidates here, and candidates who found a new opportunity. So let’s keep ‘er going for a while longer.

  • Your comment must include the job title, and either a link to the full job description, or the text of it. It doesn’t have to be a SQL Server DBA job, but it does have to be related to databases. (We get a pretty broad readership here – it can be any database.)

    DBA – Remote (Rochester, MN)
    Description: Under general supervision and guidance, the Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) DBA is responsible for the maintenance and support of complex database systems software at multiple Mayo Clinic sites. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and training experience in Systems DBA or an Associate’s degree plus 3 years of demonstrated technical experience as a Systems DBA. ServiceNow, data science, and Tableau experience highly preferred.

    Senior DBA (Rochester, MN)
    Description: This position includes support of all system aspects for Mayo Clinic’s MS-SQL relational database environment. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of demonstrated professional IT Systems DBA experience or an Associate degree plus 5 years of demonstrated professional IT Systems DBA experience. MCSE, CCNA, or other IT related certifications considered a plus.

    GCP Data Engineer – Remote (Phoenix, AZ)
    Description: Mayo Clinic is seeking a motivated Data Engineer to be responsible for creating and maintaining the analytical infrastructure that enables most functions in the data world. You will be responsible for and development, testing, and maintenance, of architectures for large-scale medical related databases in GCP using Big Query and other state of the art systems. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited University or College. Additionally, experience with Python, Denodo, along with ETL and ELT toolsets would be beneficial. GCP Certification would also be a plus.

    Senior Programmer – Remote (Rochester, MN)
    Description: The Cancer Center IT unit is seeking a highly motivated IT Senior Analyst/Programmer to join a team responsible for supporting administrative research data and statistical analysis. This is a hybrid position for both code development and low-level MS-SQL DBA tasks. Bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience, including 1 year demonstrated technical experience required.

    Experience with healthcare technologies is preferred.

    o We use Ola’s scripts for backups/maintenance and have the full Redagate toolchain for monitoring/development.

    We’re looking for this role to drive change to our current estate to align with modern best practices. We are open to looking into Availability Groups, SQL Server 2019 and PaaS offerings as we work towards our Azure migration.
