Hi Brent,
I am currently working in IT recruitment and am now looking to break in to the IT Market myself, ideally as a DBA.
Please could you advise if there are any Degrees/Courses I should take to get started?
Thanks
Craig – I’ve written about how to get your first junior DBA job here: http://www.brentozar.com/archive/2009/04/how-to-get-a-junior-dba-job-part-1/ I don’t think courses or degrees help, and I write about why.
I have completed my PG(Comp.Sci.)did 2 and 1/2 year work as an Executive product support,i m interested in database, what should i do to become “DBA”.
Yogesh – go ahead and read the links above, and let us know if you’ve got more specific questions. Good luck on your journey!
I just gave my final year B.Sc.IT exams and waiting for my results. If i wish to become DBA then what courses should I pursue? And if any of my 12th or 10th % if less will affect my chance of getting jobs.. please reply
Priya – unfortunately, I don’t know what courses your college offers, but I’d suggest checking into courses like database theory. Keep in mind, though, that as I’ve written in the posts above, the college degree alone doesn’t get it. You’ll likely need a job in IT first, so consider taking courses that will help get you in the door as a programmer or systems administrator. That knowledge is useful for DBAs too.
give me dba notes
Dinesh – this whole site is DBA notes. Enjoy!
