Yes, it does include it but …
run the query is SSMS with tools > options > query results > results to grid > discard results after execution.
and compare the time.
Brent, your approach to tuning for logical I/O has revolutionized my approach to tuning after watching one of your tuning videos last year. I also at first questioned its wisdom having been raised with the idea you always tune for physical I/O. I feel quite embarrassed about not knowing about this before. I’m going to just blame you for not telling me earlier ok? 🙂

Brent …. something seemed to go a tad wrong in that bit about the Query Store. Did you actually say you should switch it off on versions 2016, 2017 and later? It only became available in 2016 and it goes very much against the advice of Microsoft to switch it off … in fact, it’s switched on by default now. It has greatly helped me in the past and I love it. Sure there may be edge cases in it causing performance issues but surely the positives massively outweigh the negatives?
May want to rewatch it again – the question was, “When should you not enable Query Store for SQL Server?” and I answer it very specifically. Cheers!
