What does RT mean on Twitter? How do you find new people to follow? How do you get more followers?
I’ve been on Twitter for years. I’ve seen a lot of people make a lot of mistakes, and I want to help make your Twitter experience as easy as possible. I wrote a completely free Twitter book that you can download right now to learn the basics before you make an idiot of yourself in public.
The book covers:
- What slang terms like RT, OH, #FF mean
- How to set your description and location to reach more people
- Ways to use tags and lists to find more Twitter users
- How small businesses can get started with Twitter

There’s no catch! It’s completely free.
If you like it, the only thing that I’d ask is that you follow me (@BrentO) on Twitter. I tweet when new versions of the book come out. And yes, I really do answer every question on Twitter!

Hi Brent,
Thanks for the free Twitter book …
BTW, you have a great web site and best of luck on completing your SQL MCM.
John
This has been one of the most informative sites on tweeting. Thank you
Just had a follower come my way from reading your book. Thanks for the mention. Great Great Great read – simple, easy.
My manager just got on twitter – ohh joy
.. pointing him this way.
Appreciate the work, you old twitter-coot ! .. and thanks for making it free, for now. Has way more value than $0 IMO.
@DellServerGeek
Ha! You’re welcome, sir. Keep up the good work. I’ll be “launching” the book in early April. Keep your eyes peeled…

you should add a comment about twapperkeeper.com for archiving. Good book! (why were you working on a cruise, for God’s sake?)
Thank you!!!! I look forward to reading through it and passing it along to clients! I have already implemented your twitter page on my blog and anytime anyone ask for a twitter crash course I send them your way.
Thank YOU! Working around you and Tracey was an absolute blast. I don’t think I would have gotten nearly as much out of Twitter if I hadn’t been around you guys at Caroline.
Brent
It seems your not only a SQL (Master), but also a master with the twitter to boot
So will download, digest and then begin to “Burp” out my tweets {hopefully} with soem sense of style and attempt to not look like a complete idiot
(but I think that day has sadly come and gone)

I have a suggestion and for your ‘Simple Twitter Book’. Please include the wrong use of RT (ReTweet), that interpreted as ‘Reply To’. I’ve been watching that bad sense of epic-fail-tweets from some Tweets, mostly from Indonesians. Just like this:
@People1: “Sure RT @People2 Can I have that? RT @People1 I have a new game!”
Because of that, most of the Worldwide TTs (Trending Topics) are came from Indonesia. It can increase the word’s / query’s rank more than 3x faster. Not a big problem actually, but the TT became no more relevant. It’s ridiculous. I hope the Twitter Guys can make the new algorithm of the TT. Just for let the world (okay, the readers) know.
Thanks
That’s actually completely okay – people use that all the time to show what they’re replying to. I don’t have a problem with this approach.
But actually, they do it with the wrong way with RT, interpreted it as Reply To. Well yeah, some peoples use RT to show what they’re replying to. But in this case is different. I’ve interviewed some peoples about using RT, they just said it’s okay, even they’re wrong. Imagine all of the tweets from them are using that style, impact and break the well-programmed TT algorithm.
