Who’s Hiring in the Microsoft Data Platform Community? May 2025 Edition
Is your company hiring for a database position as of May 2025? Do you wanna work with the kinds of people who read this blog? Let’s set up some rapid networking here.
If your company is hiring, leave a comment. The rules:
- Your comment must include the job title, and either a link to the full job description, or the text of it. It doesn’t have to be a SQL Server DBA job, but it does have to be related to databases. (We get a pretty broad readership here – it can be any database.)
- An email address to send resumes, or a link to the application process – if I were you, I’d put an email address because you may want to know that applicants are readers here, because they might be more qualified than the applicants you regularly get.
- Please state the location and include REMOTE and/or VISA when that sort of candidate is welcome. When remote work is not an option, include ONSITE.
- Please only post if you personally are part of the hiring company—no recruiting firms or job boards. Only one post per company. If it isn’t a household name, please explain what your company does.
- Commenters: please don’t reply to job posts to complain about something. It’s off topic here.
- Readers: please only email if you are personally interested in the job.
If your comment isn’t relevant or smells fishy, I’ll delete it. If you have questions about why your comment got deleted, or how to maximize the effectiveness of your comment, contact me.
Each month, I publish a new post in the Who’s Hiring category here so y’all can get the latest opportunities.

My law firm is hiring another data platform engineer to join my team.
The job entails database administration and some development work. It is not a senior role. We don’t write much of our own business facing code but we deal mostly with data integration and administrative side of SqlServer, Fabric, Azure, etc. If you’re comfortable with on prem SqlServer, Azure, SSIS, tsql, powershell, dbatools, SqlSentry … then you’re likely a fit. It is US only, remote, but you must be in one of these states – PA,DC,NY,DE,OH,NJ,TX,FL,MD,VA,DC,IL,MA,CA,TX. Hit me up on LinkedIn if you have any questions https://www.linkedin.com/in/dan-white-a39b541/

Dan – just as a sanity check, you think someone will be familiar with SQL Server AND Azure AND SSIS AND T-SQL AND PowerShell AND DBAtools AND SQL Sentry…
…and not be in a senior role?
That’s… ambitious. Just setting expectations here.
This sound someone like me: small firm, low resources (or no willingnes to buy everything from someone) => best to dive yourself into every possible technology, eg. SQL with the help of one expert named Brent.
Of course how deep my knowledge is in all of the fields varies. But enough to make very useful backend solutions? Still I would never get a senior position in just one of the technologies?
Luckily location restricts me so I cannot apply 🙂
Ambitious? Absolutey! This is just what I say when people ask me if they think they’re a fit or not and haven’t looked over the job posting. Not having one of them isn’t a deal breaker, it’s just what we use day to day. If you want to work with those things, live in the US, in some specific states, and want to work for a very big law firm … then throw your hat in the ring.
Gotcha. Just a thought exercise suggestion – I’d write a job description that your ideal candidate would have, for the job they’re working today. Think about how long they worked in that position, and what kind of work they did to get the kind of experience you’re looking for.
Odds are, THAT job may be a junior position that they held for a few years.
Now, what about your position is going to call to them? After the years they’ve put in, why wouldn’t they be applying for a senior position?
Just a thought exercise that may be helpful. I’ve worked through that with a few clients who have realized, “oh, this position really is a senior position – and we either need to advertise it as such, or we need to reevaluate the job position and take away a lot of the skill requirements, and instead think about the kind of person we need to hire – and tailor the job as to talk about the specific training classes we’re going to put them in each quarter as part of their benefits and career plan.”
I would really enjoy a role like this. I certainly don’t have all the qualifications, but it would allow me to have hands on experience with a lot of skills I’d like to learn. Took Brent’s fundamentals classes last month, and currently going through the recordings to solidify the knowledge. I’m based in California and fall within the Salary range!
