Kalen Delaney has been a Microsoft MVP for SQL Server since 1993. She is the author of several highly regarded books, including Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Internals, SQL Server Concurrency, SQL Server MVP Deep Dives, and SQL Server Internals of In-Memory OLTP. Somewhere around a decade ago, she sold a training video CD that was the first SQL Server video training I ever saw!
I’m proud to announce that Kalen’s doing two new courses with us:
Locking and Blocking:
SQL Server Concurrency Control
Many versions ago, SQL Server managed concurrency only pessimistically, using locking and blocking to prevent multiple users from updating the same data simultaneously and to provide data consistency. In this seminar we will look at the concurrency enhancements based on a technology called row-level versioning (RLV) that implement a form of optimistic concurrency. We’ll compare concurrency management with RLV to concurrency management with locking and blocking. Learn more about this fast-paced 4-hour live online class.
SQL Server 2017 Internals
for Performance Tuning
SQL Server Internals for Performance Tuning provides the internal details you need to know to make sure you can get the best performance from your SQL Server. This is an advanced course designed for advanced SQL Server professionals. The course includes extensive demonstrations that illustrate the details of SQL Server internals. This course will be presented on SQL Server 2017 and cover features specific to that version, but most of the information is relevant to SQL Server 2016 and SQL Server 2014, and some is relevant to earlier versions.
