PasteThePlan.com lets you paste in execution plans and get a link to share them with other people.
In our company chat room, we get an alert whenever a new plan comes in, and I’m not ashamed to admit that we’re geeky enough that we usually jump straight into it and start poking around. We actually get excited to see what other people are working on.
We figured you might be, too, so here’s a page with the 20 most recently pasted plans.
Also, we’ve been kinda obsessive with Eric Larsen’s excellent drawings of the execution plan operators. Here’s a high-resolution copy you can use for desktop wallpaper, and a crazy-high-res copy if you’d like to make it a laptop or tablet skin. (I’ve already got ’em for my laptop and iPad – I highly recommend Gelaskins.com.)

The crazy-hi-res copy is causing an error. Log-in required
It was causing an error from the rss feed. It seems to work fine from the page.
I wonder if there is any way to use this info to gather a “top 10 list of bad practices that make your plans worse” or something. Might be kind of hard to parse out something like that.
hi-res image not working, getting 404 error
Ooh, I don’t know if I can look at these queries too often. I want to fix them and there’s so many of them to fix! I want to say to the coder, as a weak reference to Anigo Montoya, “I don’t think this query is giving you what you think it is.”
…great work Ozar team…great work!
I’ve been putsing around the internet trying to find if there’s a way to get SSMS to use these icons.
No luck so far. Don’t think it’s possible without some proper hacking. Then again, SSMS might just store the icons somewhere in plain sight on some obscure file path…
