  1. Dear Ms. Kendra Little,

I really appreciate the video, How to get your First job as a DBA. I took your advice several months ago, I built a lab, watched training videos, read certification books and performed the tasks, certified in SQL Server 2012/2014, and honestly listed the relevant tasks on my resume. I did take limited opportunities at my last job to use SQL Server, even if it was just building relevant queries. And, I read and reviewed numerous books that interested me, and some of them were challenging readings.

I was willing to relocate to a more populous area and I now have a job as a SQL Developer, but spend most of my time writing C# code for the various layers of a web application, and I am relatively successful. I would imagine that the video would have varying degrees of impact for various people, but it sure has been a help for me, and I am thankful. I have had formal C# training and a breadth of IT-related experience, but your video inspired me to pursue a new career about the time I was to lose my last job, I am successful, and thankful.

Thank you so much. I hope that this email is appreciated and I hope that, if you chose to do, that this email could be used as materiel to encourage others. Thank you so much.

  2. Hi Kendra,
Today I first time listened your amazing video. I am feeling its more worthy than any other YouTube video I ever found. I am looking for DBA job.
I have masters degree of computer applications but no relevant experience. Now its almost 5years. After completing the degree I observed that I studied a lot of subjects but I am master in none. currently I am doing in a small customer service company at higher level. After watching your video I am once again motivated to achieve my dream job. Now I am able to co-relate my current job experience with the DBA job.
I already have some basic skills which I needed to learn anything. Probably with some practice on SQL server 2012 and some interview practices, I can get the job in one month.
I wants to thanks you for this knowledgeable and moral booster video. I will contact you again after getting a DBA job.
