Dayton Brown and Netster won themselves 120gb USB hard drives a couple of weeks ago in my Clean Brent’s Office Contest, but now that I’m settling into my new home office in Chicago, I’m finding even more unneeded gear lying around.
I have no clue how this happened (well, that’s not true – I have a pretty good clue, but I’m too ashamed to admit my stupidity on the blog) but I’ve found myself with half a dozen keyboards and another half-dozen mice.
Drawing time!
Prize Package #1: a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 and a Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000
Prize Package #42: a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 and a Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer 2.0
Prize Package #11: an Apple Bluetooth keyboard and a Microsoft Wireless Presenter Mouse 8000. Includes a Microsoft USB Bluetooth adapter.
Leave a comment by Sunday the 27th, and on Monday the 28th I’ll draw a winner.
In your comment, put the number of the prize package you’d like to win (only one). This introduces a little strategy; should you pick one you think nobody else will pick, or do you pick the one you really want? Good luck!
Only one entry per person. US residents only, because shipping overseas is complicated and I’m lazy. No purchase required to win – all comments on this entry will be completely free of charge! It’s your lucky week.
All of this gear is used – albeit lightly, because what human being in their right mind can use this many input devices at home?!? None of this stuff comes with warranties or batteries, though, so your mileage may vary. Odds are it all works – I don’t keep stuff around when it breaks, as evidenced by the fact that I’m not holding a drawing for the many Ethernet cables with busted jacks that I’m throwing away.
Update 9/29 – the winners were Brett Flippin (#1), Matthew Chestnut (#42) and Jack Corbett (#11). Congratulations, guys!

I’m interested in Prize Package #1, because i want a mouse with the number 6000 in it’s model name. Think of the ways I could work that into conversations…”Gee, look at the ease of clicking I have when using my Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000″
Hahaha, nice. The “number” thing made me rework the prize package numbers – to heck with the boring 1, 2, 3.
Another contest run by our tame SQL Server Expert. Some say his dreams look like Perfmon outputs and that his sweat smells like bacon grease. But all we know is he’s that guy named Bret!
Ha! But you didn’t pick a prize package, so you get what’s behind Door #3: half a dozen Ethernet cables with broken jacks. Conflatulations!
Bret?
Failure on my part. Monty, lets make a deal. Package 11 and a promise not to leave comments from Tweeteck for the iPhone again.
HAHAHA, Tweeteck, nice.
Just caught that typo, at least I am consistent in my ability to screw up a comment when using my iPhone.
Note to self: I really need to stop commenting on your blog from my iPhone.

Apple Bluetooth keyboard is the best! Wanted to buy that one few month ago but the price is a bit too expensive 🙂
Thank you so much for the hard drive! will let you know when I received it weeeeeeeeeee
good luck to the every one 🙂
I would really like the MS ergo keyboard, so I can attempt to be a MS Ergo Keyboard MVP.
that would be #1
I’d like Prize Package #1 Brent. The keyboard is oh so comfortable, although a bit of a pain to clean. Now that I think about it though, it’s been in THE Brent Ozar’s hands, I shall never wash it, ever.
I’ll go for prize package #42, since everyone seems to be excited about the version 6000 laser mouse and all I really want is the keyboard anyway.
Tossing my proverbial hat in the ring for prize package numero uno.
I want Prize Package #1.
I would think of going for 42, because less people would want it, but this is for fun, so i’m voting on the better mouse. #11 is the weird mouse that i don’t care for.
I think you need to start asking for strange things as the entry. Like an essay about what we will accomplish as king of the packr^H^H^H^H^H keyboards. Or ask that we offer some junk (that you value) in exchange, like a PS2/USB connector. Or maybe a good (clean) joke.
Q: If a man has a goose on top of a building, what is the easiest way for him to get down?
A: Pluck it off the goose.
Yeah, I’m Canadian, but you could personally deliver it when you’re in Edmonton next week? No shipping costs at all. 🙂 I want number #42.
Ha! Bad news – I’m presenting remotely at EDMPASS. I won’t be in the room. 😉
I’d love #11. Between your blog post, How to Deliver a Killer Technical Presentation, and Microsoft Wireless Presenter Mouse 8000, I’ll be the greatest technical presenter ever!
Ooo, pick me, pick me! 😀
Entering myself for package number 11, please sir.
Thanks!
Prize Package #11. What a great idea!
Prize Package #42. Glad I could help clean up your office.
#42 because it’s the meaning of life.
Sign me up for prize package #42. My existing keyboard is begging to be released back into the wild.
#11 do value meals go that high? Does it include bacon? I only want it if it includes bacon. Make that extra bacon. mmmm….bacon
Package #1 and great Day with the Experts in Boston other day! I was online watching from office but was my first webcast with you. Thanks for all the great info, already started doing performance monitoring with one of my servers.
Cool, glad you liked it!
I’ll sign up for #1. And I’d like to sign up for the upcoming macbook giveaway. 🙂
Prize Package #11 would be a nice addition to my MacBook Pro at my desk. I could reclaim one of my two valuable USB ports.
Thanks, Brent.
Matt, the Pittsburgh DS4800 admin. Hey… just trying to catch your eye!
Ah, howdy sir! Thanks again for the help during my DS4800 crisis. Ouch.
#42 the meaning of life.
Prize package #42.
I’d go for #11, but I may be tempted to point the laser at my co-workers and pretend I’m about to pick them off one at a time.
HA!
I”m definately interested in Prize Package #11. After all an 8000 mouse has to be better than a 6000 mouse?
Put me in for prize package #1. Missed out the first time around, and I’m always up for lightly used free stuff!
I’d love a keyboard to go along with my Macbook Pro, sign me up for an 11!
Thanks!
Hey, Isn’t this the exact hardware that got helped you earn an MVP April 1st last year?
Prize Package #1. I like your spend a day with the experts. Very informative.
Thanks
You’re welcome, glad you liked it!
Prize Package #42. Merci Brent!
Prize Package #11: an Apple Bluetooth keyboard and a Microsoft Wireless Presenter Mouse 8000. Includes a Microsoft USB Bluetooth adapter.
Why? Because I have never, ever in my life entered a free drawing like this. Why? Because I have this theory that I won’t win. So Mr Ozar – you have a chance to prove or disprove my theory. The choice is all yours. Oh…and I should also add a nice little serving of guilt with this – I’d like the keyboard, because thanks to you, I now own a Macbook which lacerates my wrists if I type for any length of time, so a bluetooth keyboard would be nice to prevent some additional pain. I won’t buy one for myself because I don’t like the thought of giving Apple any more money.
I’d like to enter the drawing for Prize package #1, because you, Brent Ozar, are #1!
And I, Dyfhid, am not a butt kisser, but a simple, honest commenter, jonesing around for free stuff. Free SQL Training, free presentation tips, free thoughts on being a better blogger, see why you’re #1 in my book?
You, Dyfhid, are a butt kisser. 😉
“because what human being in their right mind can use this many input devices at home?!?”
Someone with six kids
Rob.
(Not competing, because I’m outside the USA)
here is my try for package #1
I’m throwing my hat in the ring for #11. I run a user group and would love the presenter mouse. Not to mention the looks I’ll get from my co-workers for driving my new dell laptop from an Apple keyboard.

Here is my comment.
If selected, I would choose, in the following order, Prize Package #42, #1, then #11.
Prize Package # 11 please…
Hi Brent,
Currently I am using presenter of iBall and it is very good. I am interested in giving a try to MS presenter.
Prize Package #11:
No need to ship it to me, I can pick it up from you at PASS!
Kind Regards,
