Rome, Italy
April 2001
Everybody wants to go to Italy. Several of us at work had been planning a trip off and on for a year, but it never panned out. The timing was perfect in April - my girlfriend was switching schedules at work, so she had some free time, and I was starting to work from home.
We originally planned to spend four days in Rome and three days in Venice, but the ridiculous hotel rates in Venice made us rethink that plan. Our trip dates preceeded Easter by two weeks, and that’s the busiest time of the year in Italy. To save money and make things easier, we spent the whole time in Rome, and I’m very glad we did. We saw everything we’d wanted to see, and took our time doing it. I’ve broken up the trip into smaller pages to make it easier to read through.
