This week we’ve added a BI blogger to the mix, Davy Knuysen. Davy is a BI consultant for Ordina Belgium and Vice-President of the Belgian SQL Server User Group (SQLUG.BE). He’s been working with SQL since SQL 2000, and these days he focuses on designing & implementing BI solutions. Some of his recent posts include:
- SSAS Parent-Child hierarchies in Reporting Services – start-to-finish tutorial using AdventureWorks.
- Reporting Services Timeouts in Sharepoint – which timeout should you set? Davy shows where the Sharepoint timeouts are.
- SSAS custom format strings for “duration” – using MDX.
Most of this stuff goes flying over my head because I’m not a BI guy. Every time I read blogs like this, I’m reminded of how different BI work is from SQL Server engine work!

How is NoSQL different from dataspaces?
Ooops…commented under wrong post..
Dataspaces are a technique but not a shipping scalable product as far as I’m aware. I don’t know of anyone using them, just talking about them.
