I’m showing this picture a little larger than I normally show in the blog because you have to see it up close to get the details:
This is the Citibank a block from our apartment. There are three ATM’s in this picture. The two on the right are drive-through, with normal pavement lanes, and the one on the left is a walk-up - with wheelchair access, no less.
That says a lot about this area. There’s a lot of walking going on here. I adore this about South Beach: everything’s really set up well for pedestrians and bicyclists. I’m no tree-hugger, but I love the fact that I don’t have to use the car very often.
Erika and I are on the way out the door to Einstein Bagels, one of the places not quite within walking distance in the 86 degree F heat, maybe ten blocks away. I’m taking the Jeep keys.
