Galveston Sea Turtles Tour

Turtles.jpgAs part of my long vacation over the last week and a half, Erika and I went to the NOAA Sea Turtles lab in Galveston, Texas. This place raises hundreds of loggerhead sea turtles to give them a better chance to survive in the wild. The tour explains how the sea turtles live, what they eat, and more.

Anytime you go, you’ll see hundreds of turtles in various life stages from birth to three years old. The three year old ones can weigh around sixty pounds, and since they live to be 80-100 years old, they get a lot heavier than that.

We loved it, and it was worth every minute. I’d highly recommend this free tour to anybody living anywhere near Galveston.

I took the digital camera along and took a few photos and movies of sea turtles.
