Hi. I’m Brent Ozar.

I make Microsoft SQL Server go faster. Since the late 1990s, I’ve progressed from developer, to sysadmin, to DBA. I’ve managed performance and reliability for tough servers: tens of terabytes, thousands of databases, tens of thousands of queries per second.

I’ve taught at conferences around the world including the PASS Summit, SQLbits, and Microsoft’s own conferences like Ignite and TechEd. My clients have included Stack Overflow, Google, and other companies whose SQL Servers you rely on every day.

I’m a SQL Server consultant.

I specialize in performance tuning emergencies. In my 2-day SQL Critical Care®, I quickly assess your application’s performance, determine the root cause of the slowdowns, and then get everyone on the same page for permanent pain relief.

I also offer remote DBA services for SQL Server, performance tuning, and I do so many upgrades and migrations that when Google Cloud wanted an industry expert to write up guidance on moving to the cloud, they came to me. I’d love to help make your project a success, too.

I do SQL Server training.

I’ve spoken at conferences around the world, and my online classes win rave reviews. When you’re ready to upgrade your skills:

  1. Get started with my free How to Think Like the Engine class
  2. Progress to my Fundamentals classes which introduce disciplined ways of tuning indexes and queries
  3. When you’re ready to master SQL Server, get my challenging Mastering classes with hands-on labs on a ~300GB database

Or, if you’d like private training for your team, I offer corporate SQL Server training.

I’ll even monitor your SQL Server.

My SQL ConstantCare® service sends you simple daily emails – just one email per day – telling you the most important actions to take to improve your database’s health, reliability, and performance.

It’s one flat price for all of your SQL Servers – no expensive per-server licensing – because I want to make sure you’ve got everything covered.

Enough about me.
Let’s talk about you.

You’re storing data in Microsoft SQL Server, and you’re frustrated. It seems like a black box, and when you ask for data, it’s not coming in and out of the box fast enough. The box is yelling out an awful lot of error messages, too.

You’ve tried Googling for answers, but there’s so much conflicting advice out there. You keep coming across BrentOzar.com over and over again in the results, though, and you’re starting to think that maybe – just maybe – this site has a few answers. (Some of them might even be correct!)

Let’s get you started free.

Download my free First Responder Kit packed with useful scripts like sp_Blitz, sp_BlitzCache, and sp_BlitzIndex. Then, attend my free online webcasts where I teach you how to use ’em – plus, start growing your SQL Server knowledge.

You may not even need anything but the free stuff – and that’s totally fine!
